BHIVU NAKOS ME TUZYA PATHISHI AHE

Whenever Dharma has been treanted in bharatvarsha, god has come in the form of an Avtaar, every time to save each and every devotee and protect them. It is for this purpose that "Sri Swami Samarth Maharaj" of Akkalkot manifested Himself. He is the most famous Datta Avataar in the Sri Datta Sampradaya, Who can adequately describe the glorious appearance of Sri Swami Samarth ? All human faculties fail in this attempt, at best one may give a superficial account. our mortal eyes can seldom hope to even see his glory - swami appears like a glorious sun.

Sri Swami Samarth's Appearance :-

Sri Swami Samarth is the extension of the fifteenth century in carnation of Lord Dattatraya, namely Sri Narasimha Saraswati. It is mentioned in the holy book "Gurucharitra" that Sri Narasimha Saraswati entered mahasamadhi in Kardalivana (near Shri Shailya) in 1458.
After remaining in mahasamadhi for over 300 years there was a complete transformation in the personality of Sri Narasimha Saraswati. That divinely transformed personality is Sri Swami Samarth. He emerged from an encircling anti-hill because a woodcutter accidentally cut through a tree and hit Sri Swami Samarth. This awakened Him from the prolonged samadhi.
Sri Swami Samarth looked like a Purana Purush - A Rishi from ancient times. there was always a "Tilak" on His forehead and his Body would be smeared with sandal paste. he used to wear only a Kaupin (codpiece), and He wore "Tulsi Mala" (necklace) and ear rings in set with gems.
Sri Swami Samarth was an Avadhoot - A maha Yogi possessing great spiritual powers. He was always muttering mystic 'Mantras' or something few could understand. He was an Jnana - Murthi exemplarof wisdom and knowledge. He expressed oneness and kinship with all creations. His merge glance could bless His presence sanctify and His silence a sermon. His touch could trigger spiritual change and transformation would begin.

He repeated the following praise of Lord Shiva,

Shivahar Shankar Namami Shankar Shivashankar Shambho
He Girijapate Bhavani Shankar Shivashankar Shambho

Swami Maharaj was from a family of Yajurvedi Brahmin, my name is Narsimhabhan, my Gotra (Lineage) is Kashyap and myzodiac sign is Meen (Pisces). Firstly Maharaj appeared out of Kadaliban -plantain forest near Srisailam (in present Andhra Pradesh). Later on Maharaj went on traveling and visited Kolakatta and other cities and moved through Bengal and had mother Kali's darshan.Thereafter walking along the banks of Ganges visited Haridwar and Kedareswar. From here Maharaj reached the banks of Godavari and deccan (Hyderabad). After a stay of few days Maharaj moved on to Mangalwedha (a town near Pandharpur in Sholapur district) and stayed there for several years. From here Maharaj went to Pandharpur and Begampur. Then Maharaj went wandering to Mohol and Solapur. Then reached Akkalkot from Solapur. Since then Maharaj in Akkalkot.

After His arrival in Akkalkot. Sri Swami stay there, for 22 years from 1856 onwards till his Mahasamadhi,Teaching the common man spiritual precepts, Taking them to"POORNATVA" i.e. God. Akkalkot, formerly known as Pradnya Puri (town of wisdom), The town gained special significance because of Sri Swami Samarth's stay.

People of all religions - Muslims, Parsees, Christians and Jewsused to come for his darshan. He used to visit mosques and dargas, just as he visits temples and "Muths" (place of spiritual authority.) devotees often found him in various postures and poses; at time sitting under a tree, lying by the river bank, yet His appearance always commanded respect. Even those who saw Him for the first time, could recognize His towering spiritual stature. While His face was full of compassion, love and kindness, occasionally He also looked like a fierce lion; the Narasimha Avatar of lord Vishnu.

On the 3rd April 1878, He completed His mission on earth and took Mahasamadhi. His spiritual magnetism has not waned even now, as is indicated by the constant flow of thousands of pilligrims  to Akkalkot. Those who go there for a Darshan of the samadhi, still feel the subtle power of swamiji. They feel a definite response to their prayers; Some are cured of their suffering; other find their desire fulfilled. More than that they fill guided onto the right spiritual path. Even though Sri Swami Samarth is no longer in bodily manifestation, He still guides His true devotees and manifest Himself even now .......

What will you learn from Shri Swami Samartha -

1. It is necessary for the aspirants seeking self-realization to surrender unto a master who has gained ultimate knowledge and has firmly established Himself in communion with the Lord. Once having met such a master the seeker should continuously meditate upon his Master, serve him with devotion and pay utmost attention to His spiritual advice, as if every word coming from His lips were a Mantra. This way after serving your master you will attain self- realization in this world and be liberated in the end.

2. Do not eat food offered and prepared by any body and everybody. Not only this but be watchful to see from whom you are accepting even the betel leaf. You will also become evil if you eat food offered by evil person. If you eat even a betel leaf offered by a man or woman always engrossed in sensual thoughts, then you will also become like that person.

3. Have firm belief that it is god alone who is immanent in every seen and unseen thing in this universe. This will help you maintain purity of the mind.

4. Do not offer spiritual knowledge or advice to every person you meet. Assess the worth of the person and then only offer spiritual advice depending on his merits.

5. Do not see the face of a lazy person.

6. Earn your livelihood through sincere efforts.

7. Do not resort to opium or other drugs.

8. Be always engaged in practicing your Dharma. Then you will triumph in every field.

9. Serve your Master with out feeling any kind of shame whatsoever.

10. Whenever you come across an able guide on the spiritual path trytogain as much knowledge and advice from him as possible. No master will share the knowledge on his own, as no farm will yield crops on its own.

11. While following spiritual practice if you gain spiritual powers then do not fall prey to the lure of using them to show miracles.

12. It is improper to use spiritual knowledge only as means to earn your livelihood.

13. Conduct of the people treading the spiritual path should be pure and righteous.

14. Since the final goal of all religious faiths and sects preaching Divine knowledge is one and the same all sects and faiths are birds of the same feather.

15. Mythological scriptures composed by seers should be read and repeated.

16. It is with Gods will that we receive joys and sorrows in worldly life. One should accept the Divine Will with pleasure, so that he goes beyond the joys and sorrows of life.

17. One should understand the secret behind idol worship while performing it. Idol worship is not the only means of worship. Our dutyis to experience self-realization. Therefore one should gradually try to progress towards self-elevation.

18. Try to purify your mind too as you try to maintain externals anctity of the body.

19. Do actions without expecting any rewards.

20. Bookish knowledge alone will not lead you to self-realization.Try to put the acquired knowledge in to practice.
